Peta Wainwright

Biography

Peta Wainwright is a contemporary painter specialising in atmospheric landscape works.

Her paintings emphasise atmospheric quality, often depicting expansive skies, sweeping horizons, and the interplay of light and shadow through painting techniques that convey serenity and grandeur.

Originally from rural South Africa, she now resides in Norfolk, UK, where she is inspired by the surrounding local landscapes.

She holds a Master's degree (with Distinction) from Norwich University of the Arts.

Notable achievements include being shortlisted for the Sir John Hurt Art Prize (2022), finalist in the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painting Prize (2022), shortlisted for Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2022), longlisted for the Women in Art Prize (2023).

She has exhibited extensively, across the UK and London, including at The Mall Galleries.

Peta is represented by The Point Contemporary and has work for sale through Pocock's Art monger.
